Bancha Hojicha
Organic Bancha Hojicha Roasted Green Tea
A favorite everyday green tea made from the leaves and twigs of the autumn and winter harvests. When you sip a cup of Bancha Hojicha you can taste smooth, nutty, and toasted notes with hints of caramel and wood. Its slightly sweet and roasted flavor is reminiscent of wrapping yourself in a warm blanket on a brisk morning.
Bancha Hojicha has the least caffeine of all our green teas and little to no bitterness as a result of the careful roasting process it undergoes. In fact, Hojicha is unique among Japanese teas because it is roasted, whereas most Japanese teas are steamed.
It is also considered an excellent digestive; often enjoyed with meals in the macrobiotic diet!* Read more about Bancha Hojicha on our blog and try making Iced Bancha Hoijicha.

Bancha Hojicha: Roasted Green Tea
Though Bancha Hojicha is a variety of green tea, the roasting process gives the leaves a distinct reddish-brown color. Roasting the leaves not only gives Bancha Hojicha its unique flavor profile, but it also mellows out the caffeine content and astringent quality found in most green teas, leaving you with a smooth, satisfying brew.
