Schisandra Berry
Schisandra Berry
Dried Schisandra Berry (1 oz)
Schisandra has a long history in Chinese herbal medicine and was traditionally used to “calm the heart and quiet the spirit.” An adaptogenic berry with strong antioxidant properties, Schisandra can help with adrenal fatigue, improve physical and mental performance, and support the liver and digestion.*
Often called the Five-Flavor Fruit, or Wu Wei Zi in Chinese, Schisandra Berries are said to contain all five basic flavors in traditional Chinese medicine (sour, bitter, sweet, salty, and pungent) and each flavor enacts a therapeutic effect on the body. Similar to Licorice Root, these berries are considered a harmonizing tonic and help restore balance within the yin and yang of the body.
