Oriental Beauty is a truly exquisite Taiwanese or “Formosa” oolong tea that is made with delicate young leaves and tender white tea buds. The unique and complex flavor profile of Oriental Beauty tea relies on the symbiotic relationship between the tea plant and the green leaf hopper.

Considered ‘unofficially organic,’ this exceptional tea is grown without pesticides to encourage a particular insect, the tea jassid or green leafhopper, to feed on its leaves. In response to the tiny bites of the leafhopper, the tea plants generate monoterpene diol and hotrienol, resulting in this tea variety’s distinct sweet flavor and aroma.

Due to its high oxidation level and minimal astringency, this is the oolong tea for those who prefer a smooth brew and enjoy the aroma of stone fruit.
