Matcha Bowl (Chawan)

The perfect vessel for savoring and whisking matcha tea, this matcha bowl features an alluring gray crackled glaze. The base of the bowl is unglazed, exposing the natural texture of the clay, and the lip of the bowl features a contrasting white glaze.

Matcha bowls, or chawan, are practical works of art, designed for preparing matcha green tea. Made entirely from reclaimed and recycled clay, all our matcha bowls have their own unique character and charm. The slightly asymmetric shape of each bowl is a nod to the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, or beauty in imperfection.
